PJ Library Family Outreach Coordinator

Are you passionate about helping the Jewish community grow? Can you bring energy, creativity, and ideas to the PJ Library team in the UK? We are looking for someone to be responsible for connecting more families across the UK with PJ Library, focusing on those who are hardest to reach, including Russian speakers and families living outside of London. Working closely with the UK PJ Library team and colleagues at the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF), the PJ Library Family Outreach Coordinator will develop and manage a plan to enrol new families in PJ Library through marketing, partnerships, events, social media and other strategies.

Part-time position, between 2-3 days a week, reporting to the Director of PJ Library in the UK


Working with the UK Director and with HGF, the Coordinator will

Develop a plan for engaging hard-to-reach families and communities

  • Identify opportunities to reach more families with PJ Library
  • Develop goals and benchmarks for expanding PJ Library in the UK’s engagement of Russian-speaking Jewish (RSJ) families and other identified target groups
  • Identify resources needed to achieve goals for RSJ families and other target groups
  • Articulate how hard-to-reach families would benefit from the programme
  • Map relevant resources and organisations to engage in outreach efforts

Implement plan

  • Engage parents and ambassadors to access hard-to-reach families
  • Engage online networks to reach potential subscribers
  • Develop a directory of creative partners and provide them with materials and training to enable them to be ambassadors for PJ Library
  • Provide management reports to the PJ Library Director, UK advisory board, and HGF staff in the US on strategy implementation and family engagement programming
  • Lead and execute PJ Library programming and events where necessary to reach new families
  • Supply content for PJ Library’s UK website, blog, Facebook page, newsletter and related social media
  • Be an ambassador for PJ Library and HGF at all times, including community events and professional conferences
  • Support relevant community partners in marketing PJ Library to young families in hard-to-reach areas

Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of the Russian Jewish family networks in the UK, preferred
  • Understanding of regional Jewish communities in the UK, preferred
  • Understanding of the general UK Jewish community, organisations and funders, preferred
  • Marketing and event experience
  • Experience in developing an online community through social media channels
  • Experience in developing creative programming
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written skills
  • Impeccable organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work individually and in a team
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
