PJ Library Heads North

As a PJ mum I knew that PJ Library books were a shot of inspiration which dropped through the door every month making my two daughters squeak with excitement. However, it was only since I started working for PJ Library as the Northern Fieldworker, have I discovered what a difference the books and events make to families raising Jewish children across the world.

I feel honoured to be the one telling parents who have not yet heard of PJ Library, about what their child can receive just by signing up! It is also so wonderful that stretched finances that some parents face needn’t be a barrier to their child benefitting from such a rich resource.

It has been a busy few months, meeting families at the PJ Playdough in the Park in Prestwich, signing up new kids at the Maccabi Family Fun Day and getting sticky at the Challah Bake and storytime. PJ mum Joanne said at the Manchester launch event “I love PJ Library because the books are fantastic and give a great wealth of knowledge to all children of all ages, especially as my little boy is not at a Jewish nursery.’

As well as these, I have been planning our launch in Leeds for August, storytelling at a farm day with the FED, a special shabbat with The Friendship Circle, more events over the summer holidays in Manchester and making some great connections in Sheffield, Hull and Newcastle… and of course getting ready for Rosh Hashana!

If you would like some support (books, stickers and balloons always offered!) for a family event in your area drop me a line and let’s catch up!
