Introducing PJ Library in Scotland

This week PJ Library launched in Scotland, at the Jewish Arts Family Fun Day hosted at the Calderwood Lodge Primary School in Glasgow. The Family Fun day was a literacy event and so provided the perfect setting to introduce PJ Library stories to families.

An interactive storyteller brought PJ Library story ‘A Hat For Mrs Goldman’ to life and all the children were invited to do pom-pom making crafts, which tied in with the book. There was also an interactive illustration workshop, an opportunity for children to quiz an author and community artists provided fun art projects.

Sara Kibel, Community Manager at PJ Library, who attended the event, said “We are very excited to have launched in Scotland and it was really great to meet so many families on Sunday! Over 70 children in Scotland have already signed up to PJ Library and we hope this event will ensure people spread the word to friends. We welcome all Jewish Scottish families, with children aged eight years and under, to sign-up and receive the monthly gift of a free Jewish-themed book.”
