We caught up with PJ Library musician about his forthcoming trip to London over the winter holidays.

When I was seven years old, my family spent a year living in Italy. During the December holiday, we traveled to London to visit our British cousins. I remember that trip like it was yesterday. As an American kid, everything about England seemed exotic and magical. Riding on a double decker bus, watching the guards change at Buckingham Palace, eating fish and chips…these were thrilling experiences. But in retrospect, the most impactful moment of the trip was a night in the West End where we saw an incredible production of “The Wind and the Willows.”  I emerged from the theater that rainy evening determined to get on a stage myself one day.

So it’s a particular, and somewhat surreal, thrill to be heading across the pond in a few weeks to play several concerts at the Limmud Festival in Birmingham, followed by a big show for PJ Library UK in London.

I’ve made a life in music as a singer/songwriter first as an artist for adults, and more recently as “MISTER G” performing for children and families. Over the last decade, I’ve released 10 albums of original music, including 2 (The Mitzvah Bus and Seeds of Shalom) that were commissioned by PJ Library and distributed around the world. Several of my songs been adapted into illustrated picture books published by Penguin. The next one, “Lilah Tov Good Night,” was illustrated by the brilliant Israeli artist Noar Lee Naggan and will be distributed in the UK in April. I can’t wait to share my music, and a preview of the forthcoming book, with the PJ community in London!
